Each of these four members of the kindergarten group took the role of a character to build this story (transcribed by workshop leader). As we wrote, the group answered Who, When, Where and What Happened? We then read it out and made minor edits.

Friendship

by Penelope, Greta, Lyla and Jezmina, all aged 5

Once upon a time there was a little panda. Her name was Pandy. She liked playing with her friend Rose the parrot. They liked playing with Julie too. Julie was a 5-year-old kid. Hannah was a ten-year-old girl and their friend too.

On Monday, they met. They played hide and seek in the tree.

Rose was peeking. Hannah and Julie and Pandy got grumpy.

Hannah said, “That's not fair.”

Julie said, “Don't peek!”

Pandy felt really sad. She said, “Please don't do that.”

Rose was sorry.

“I won't do it ever again. I am sorry,” said Rose.

They were all friends again, and all happy.

And they all had ice cream.
